On August 26, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) aired Abbas al-Aqabi saying Faleh al-Fayyad’s nonattendance could turn parliamentary hosting into interrogation, potentially leading to removal if negligence were established. Ahmad al-Miyali separately raised alleged reporting failures, opposition to political figures leading security institutions and the PMF’s relationship with the commander-in-chief; the channel framed the coverage as parliamentary accountability while stating that Fayyad’s right of reply was guaranteed.

“Fayyad’s refusal to attend parliament will turn the hosting into an interrogation; interrogation is a serious legal matter that could remove the official if negligence is proven; Fayyad’s failure to comply with parliament’s invitation showed the PMF was not subordinate to the commander-in-chief; Fayyad faces parliamentary accountability—the right of reply is guaranteed.”
