On 22 October, Yazidi Cause Alliance bloc head Murad Ismail, speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media), accused the Kurdistan Democratic Party of obstructing Sinjar officials’ assumption of duty and displaced residents’ return, rejected the Sinjar Agreement and proposed an independent administrator. KDP member Wafa Mohammed Karim defended the agreement’s nine provisions, said displaced residents preferred remaining in camps and said the KDP might sue the alliance. Sabereen News (KH — affiliated/aligned media) had earlier carried Ismail’s allegation that Nineveh’s council bore responsibility for KDP dominance over Sinjar.
