On 4 November, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) carried KDP spokesperson Mahmoud Mohammed’s defense of parliament’s reactivation as not directed against any party, together with his accusation that PUK and New Generation decisions had kept it paralyzed. Earlier, KDP member Muhammad Amer Dershawi told the channel that the session was politically undesirable, that the PUK should have attended, and that the KDP would approach its historic partner to repair the rift. The channel also carried PUK political-bureau member Yusuf Goran’s criticism that the sitting had succeeded at the Kurdistan Region’s expense.
