On 6 September, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) displayed an Al-Taif Islamic Bank statement dated 6 July saying a Central Bank-appointed guardianship committee had assumed administrative duties, was preparing procedures for customers’ claims and would return funds after completing those procedures. Minutes later, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) reported a protest outside the bank demanding an end to restrictions and the recovery of depositors’ money; the footage shows a crowd outside a bank building.
