Falih al-Fayyad said the PMF law on service, retirement and structure would be submitted within the next two weeks. Between 16:23 and 17:49 on 20 August 2026 the sentence was carried word-for-word by Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi and Shabab al-Islam, then by Watan TV with an accompanying image of Fayyad before an Iraqi flag.
