Within an eleven-minute span this afternoon, Unit 10,000 and Sabereen News (both KH — affiliated) both attacked Khalid Abd al-Mun'im Rashid al-Janabi for calling the security forces' liberation of Jurf al-Nasr from ISIS an "occupation" and for insulting the blood of the martyrs. Both catalogued the same biography — head of the presidential diwan, mayor of Baghdad, agriculture minister under Saddam — and both named his brother Adnan Abd al-Mun'im al-Janabi as a member of the Baath National Assembly in 2000. Unit 10,000 added the charge that he incites internal fighting. Both posts carried video of a man speaking at a press event; visual review could not confirm the speaker's identity, and the rung stands at credible on the two channels' matching wording, not on the underlying attribution.

“He is the brother of the comrade and member of the Baath National Assembly in 2000, Adnan Abd al-Mun'im al-Janabi — the man appearing in the video, who describes the liberation of Jurf al-Nasr as occupation and insulted the blood of the martyrs and the efforts of the security forces.”

The Jurf al-Nasr operation and the armed groups' role in it are being defended in this window by one faction's media alone, through the personal delegitimisation of a named individual rather than argument about the operation.
