Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) this afternoon carried Sheikh Karim Hattab, head of the Maysan agricultural associations union, saying the approved agricultural plan is of no use and that the farmer in Maysan has not received water for three years, which will drive them toward mass protests. A companion clip had him saying farmers in the province want to plant rice on more area than the plan allows because of water scarcity. The speaker is the union head, not an AAH official.
