At 07:49 this morning Sabereen News (KH — affiliated media) relayed a notice in the name of the Popular Mobilization Forces authority (هيئة الحشد الشعبي) inviting participation in the funeral of "كوكبة من شهداء الأربعينية من العراقيين والمستشارين" ("a constellation of Arbaeen martyrs, Iraqis and advisors") who it says "ارتقوا إثر العدوان الأمريكي السعودي الغادر الذي استهدف قواتنا الأمنية البطلة في عدد من مناطق العراق" ("ascended following the treacherous American–Saudi aggression that targeted our heroic security forces in several areas of Iraq"). The processions are set for 17:00 from the governorate roundabout toward the two shrines in Karbala and 21:00 from Tusi Street toward the Imam Ali shrine in Najaf, both the same day. The notice gives no names, no count and no dates for the strikes, and the supplied press material does not describe the underlying attacks; press reports the same morning refer to "deadly strikes on PMF" without detail.
