On 14 September, Kurdistan24 cited two Iraqi government sources saying Washington could suspend monthly dollar transfers unless Iran-aligned armed factions surrendered their weapons by 30 September. Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported that Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi was pressing to resolve state control of weapons amid less intense faction positions, while Al-Sharq carried a headline saying faction arsenals would remain until 2028. Security and Defense Committee MP Javad al-Saadi separately identified 30 September as the scheduled departure date for US forces, including those in the Kurdistan Region.
