On 8 October, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) alleged that the Association of Muslim Scholars in Iraq was joining al-Sharaa to fight Ansar Allah in Yemen, describing the association as complicit with al-Qaeda in Iraqi bloodshed. Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official owned media) carried a statement attributed to Abdul Qader al-Karbala’i, Nujaba’s military deputy, attacking the association and Saudi Arabia, committing to stand with Ansar Allah and referring to meeting soon in Yemen’s struggle.

The distinction is between an outlet’s accusation against a religious association and a military officeholder’s own commitment; carrying the latter on Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official owned media) does not make it a KH statement.
