Hashd hands its Baghdad Belt intelligence chief to security directorate

Muhannad al-Aqabi, media director of the Popular Mobilization Commission, posted on 17 August that Abbas al-Yaqoubi, the Baghdad Belt intelligence official, had been handed to the Commission's General Security Directorate to follow his legal procedures with the judiciary, adding "anything with the judiciary is not lost, God willing". The statement was carried within roughly an hour by channels tied to five different factions, and Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) separately reported the government spokesman saying the arrest of Abbas Husayn al-Yaqoubi was made under a judicial order.
