Sabereen News (KH — affiliated) subsequently said the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority had not barred Iranian aircraft, blamed suspended ground services by Menzies and alleged that the company received instructions from the U.S. embassy; it also relayed Badr parliamentary bloc spokesman Hamed Abbas al-Mousawi describing Najaf airport as defying the United States under orders from the religious authority. Najaf airport’s relayed notice said it had received no official instruction to stop accepting Iranian flights, but the schedule and notice do not establish that every listed flight operated.
