On 21 October, Hoquq MP Hussein al-Darraji (KH — parliamentary bloc) was quoted listing four alternatives: raising the dollar exchange rate, borrowing, deducting 100,000 dinars from employees’ salaries, or paying salaries every 45 days. Sabereen News and Unit 10,000 (both KH — affiliated/aligned media) relayed his statement that the dollar rate had been raised and borrowing would follow. Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official owned media) separately quoted an unidentified speaker alleging that bloc leaders signed off on the exchange-rate increase and that MPs vote after receiving orders.
