Six minutes before the Akram al-Kaabi slogan, Jehad Brothers Team (Nujaba — affiliated) published a long piece bylined Jamal Nasrallah headed "Double standards in classifying weapons and resistance." It argues that weapons aimed at the United States or Israel are labelled terrorist while other formations are called "a security force" or "a partner in stability," names the Peshmerga as a formation not fully under Baghdad's federal command yet spared that language, and states that demanding one party disarm while ignoring others is "political selectivity, not justice." It grounds the claim in Article 1(4) of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions and UN General Assembly resolutions 1514, 2625 and 3314, while stating the right does not justify targeting civilians.

“Demanding that one party surrender its weapon while turning a blind eye to other parties that retain unrestrained weapons is not justice, but political selectivity”
أما مطالبة طرف بتسليم سلاحه، مع غضّ الطرف عن أطراف أخرى تحتفظ بسلاح منفلت، فليست عدالة، بل انتقائية سياسية
Framing the Peshmerga as the benchmark converts a disarmament demand aimed at the factions into a federal-authority dispute with the Kurdistan Region, which is a wider fight than the one Baghdad opened.
