Hamed al-Mousawi (Badr parliamentary bloc), speaking on Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) on August 25, said a Coordination Framework committee had contacted Harakat al-Nujaba and “the brigades,” with weapons-control implementation beginning at the end of September. He called for PMF retirement and structural laws, rejected confrontation, and said advanced faction weapons would strengthen the state. Earlier, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official) highlighted the same September timetable but foregrounded ending the foreign presence and said withdrawal exposed Washington’s regional military predicament.

“The Framework committee contacted Harakat al-Nujaba and the brigades; the end of September will mark the beginning of implementing weapons control; the factions will assist the state in weapons control; the factions’ weapons are advanced and will add strength to the state; weapons regulation will occur only through institutionalizing the PMF; the retirement and PMF structural laws must be enacted.”
The shared timetable masks a substantive difference in emphasis: Badr’s representative described the future status of faction weapons inside the state, while Al-Janoub TV concentrated on the preceding removal of foreign forces.
