On 5 October, Ishraqa Kanun MP Faruq Adnan al-Yasiri criticized Finance Ministry practices, said MPs needed prior approval to enter the ministry and withheld praise pending access to the budget. National Approach Coalition political-bureau member Hussein al-Aqabi said the finance minister was not obliged to show parliament the budget before sending it to cabinet, while acknowledging that persuading MPs was necessary for passage.

“There is disorder in the Finance Ministry's work. The finance minister does not allow MPs to enter the ministry without prior approval. We will not thank the finance minister before examining the budget.”
