On 29 September, جريدة عمان carried Reuters remarks attributed to Abu Mujtaba al-Yasiri, identified as a leader in Islamic Resistance in Iraq, calling the scheduled US withdrawal a historic victory for Iraqi resistance factions and a defeat for the American project. Later, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) advertised a programme with the words “Iraq regains its sovereignty and expels the foreign presence,” followed by “the green bird lands in Tehran.” Al-Yasiri’s remarks were attributed to him personally, not issued as a statement in the name of Islamic Resistance in Iraq.
