On 26 September, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) published a text saying the Iraqi government’s obstruction of visitors to the Imam Ali and Imam Hussein shrines deprived it of religious legitimacy. The text said that, if the government persisted, Muslims must not deal with it as a legitimate regime. Sabereen News (KH — affiliated) subsequently published substantially the same words and attributed them to the office of religious authority Mohsen al-Araki; the matching posts establish circulation of the text, not independent verification of its authorship.
