Awfiya deputy states Coordination Framework split on escalating with Washington

FAA (Ansar Allah al-Awfiya — official social media channel) posted a series of statements from deputy Murtada al-Saadi on the evening of 30 July: that the government is required to reconsider security relations and agreements with the United States "after the recent assault and the fall of a large number of martyrs and wounded"; that the 2011 security agreement should have been revisited after recent developments; that the Prime Minister cannot take the decision alone and needs the consent of the political forces; that the Prime Minister held a meeting with the political forces on the position toward relations with the American side; that "the leaders of the Coordination Framework — their personal statements were harsher than the Framework's official statement"; and that "there is a divergence of positions inside the Coordination Framework regarding the level" of escalation.
