At 19:04 on 31 July, Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) posted that the governor of Baghdad is demanding the prime minister intervene to stop Baghdad Municipality procedures to remove more than 5,000 homes inhabited by more than 25,000 citizens within the New Sadr City project. The post carried a scanned Baghdad Governorate letter; visual review reads text asking for "urgent and positive intervention" to stop procedures, and referring to security directorates and military forces carrying out inspection and eviction, causing "chaos and anxiety" among residents. The position stated is the governor's; the Nujaba channel relayed it without adding a faction line of its own in the post.
Watch: an explicit Nujaba editorial line on the demolitions, carriage of the same letter by KH, AAH or Badr channels, a prime ministerial or municipal suspension of the procedures, or Sadrist mobilisation around the residents — any of these moves this file.
