On 31 August, Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) quoted MP Saud al-Saadi calling state control of security a misleading formula that would place security decisions in American hands; it later asked what the Iraqi government must do if U.S. forces do not withdraw after 30 September, without supplying his answer in the collected caption. Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) carried Mushreq al-Farajji calling control under the commander-in-chief necessary, describing 30 September as a sovereignty day, urging dialogue and criticizing Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada’s statement; Mohammed al-Yasri said the group’s unspecified conditions could not be implemented within a year and rejected swaggering rhetoric toward the commander-in-chief. Iyad al-Anbar said Kataib Hezbollah and Nujaba reject weapons restrictions, that communication with factions remains active and that public messaging should be controlled by the state.
