Between 18:37 and 19:51 on 5 August 2026, three separate militia media networks each aired a different attack on Iraqi fiscal management. Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official owned media) carried Finance Committee member MP Hussein al-Daraji under the headline "the situation is tragic", saying the government will resort to domestic or foreign borrowing to secure salaries; Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official owned media) carried Ibrahim al-Dulaimi alleging failed companies obtain exceptional approvals worth hundreds of billions; and iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) carried an economist saying the liquidity crisis is fabricated and that large revenues are being lost. The three lines are not the same claim and the outlets are not relaying one another.
