Between roughly 15:06 and 15:37 on 9 August, Al-Ahad TV reported that First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Adnan Faihan had directed the formation of a committee to establish the facts about the government's prior knowledge of the "Saudi-American" targeting, and that the government must submit a report within one week on its failure to take the necessary measures. Al-Ittijah TV then reported that parliament had formed the committee. In the same half-hour, Sabereen News published a Popular Mobilization Commission statement condemning "in the strongest terms" accusations by "some politicians" that its chairman Falih al-Fayyadh held prior information about the attacks on PMF headquarters and did not warn the units, calling them baseless. Two lines run in opposite directions inside the same camp and inside the same window, which is what makes the divergence checkable rather than inferred.
