AAH media names Fayyadh; KSS media urges law passage

WHAT HAPPENED

On August 24, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) published six excerpts in quick succession accusing Falih al-Fayyadh of disrespecting parliament, putting personal interests before 220,000 PMF personnel and causing the PMF law to stall. Speakers Habib al-Quraishi and Mohammed al-Zaidawi called for parliamentary questioning, while al-Zaidawi described nonattendance as potentially rebellious or culpable and said military regulations should apply; iNEWS (KSS — affiliated media) subsequently carried al-Sadhan’s narrower call to make passage of the law a priority during the current parliamentary term.

Parliament should prepare a comprehensive “questioning” dossier on al-Fayyadh... the PMF law is “stalled” because of him... preferring “personal interests” at the expense of the rights of 220,000 members... al-Fayyadh’s failure to attend parliament warrants applying military regulations against him.

  2. iNEWSKSS — affiliated/aligned media24 Aug, 22:22

Passing the PMF law should be a priority during the current parliamentary term.

اقرار قانون الحشد الشعبي يجب أن يكون أولوية خلال الدورة النيابية الحالية

WHY IT MATTERS

The divergence separates cross-network support for passing the PMF law from AAH media’s substantially sharper treatment of the PMF chairman; KSS media did not reproduce the accusations or disciplinary demands in this window.
