WHAT HAPPENED

On 16 August 2026 Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) issued a tight sequence of captions from Muhammad al-Baldawi (AAH — Sadiqoun bloc) asking the Foreign Ministry for the legal basis and documents behind reappointing Luqman al-Faily as ambassador after a 2016 resignation, questioning a presidential decree issued without parliamentary consent, and invoking the Foreign Service Law on parliament’s role in ambassadorial appointments. Later in the same run he called for an investigation of alleged public-money waste, recovery from al-Faily if unlawful payments are proven, and accountability if dual salaries to adviser Wael Ghassan Hamza are established.
