Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) aired MP Ahmed al-Khazali on its "Qabl al-Ghad" programme at 23:09 on 17 August saying that, on the hypothesis that Falih al-Fayyad does not appear before parliament, "we are ready to go to the hospital or even to his home". At 23:33 the same channel carried him saying pressure was being exerted on parliament to prevent Fayyad's interrogation and that "we will not care about it at all". Minutes earlier, at 23:07, security expert Adnan al-Kinani predicted on the same programme that Fayyad would not attend and might plead that "his health is poor". The rung is credible: the statements are the channel's own captions on its own broadcast, with the on-screen text corroborating the wording; what remains unestablished is who was applying the alleged pressure.
