Hadi al-Amiri (Badr Organization — secretary-general) said the PMF law would advance with the prime minister’s support. Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) and Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) also carried his praise of resistance factions; Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) omitted it. Press coverage repeated the prime-ministerial-support claim, but as of August 29 the prime minister’s office had not confirmed it and no bill had been filed. Habib al-Halawi (AAH — Sadiqoun MP) separately said the government would submit the law within days, without providing its provisions.

In Jurf al-Sakhar, Unit 10,000 (KH — affiliated) reported that a Basra support convoy had reached stationed fighters, while Shabab al-Islam (Ashab al-Kahf — owned/non-official) relayed a State of Law member’s threat against any Daesh return. The footage showed a convoy and gathering, but did not verify their destination or purpose; neither channel claimed an operation.

On security operations, Unit 10,000 said the PMF seized large quantities of locally made explosive devices in al-Baghdadi district, Anbar, but named neither their maker nor a PMF source and reported no arrests.

Sabereen News (KH — affiliated) promoted a Basra gathering opposed to surrendering resistance weapons.

On the judicial file, Sabereen News and Unit 10,000 presented asset-freeze documents as a current action against Alia Nasayif, Muthanna al-Samarrai and ten officials. The attached Central Bank letter was dated August 1, 2023, while later press reporting separately described a Central Bank freeze against 12 political figures.

In parliament, Qaisar al-Jourani (AAH — Sadiqoun MP) said Sadiqoun would proceed with summoning Faleh al-Fayyad. This moved Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) from airing guests’ criticism to carrying a bloc member’s proposed action, but he gave no date or procedural stage.
