Saud al-Saadi, deputy head of the Hoquq bloc affiliated with Kataib Hezbollah, filed a parliamentary question to Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi asking whether Riyadh offered a formal apology to Iraq and to the families of those killed in the 29 July US-Saudi strike on Popular Mobilization headquarters, whether compensation and legal steps were discussed, and whether a new date was set for the premier's Saudi visit. Four faction outlets carried the scanned document within seven minutes this afternoon and reran al-Saadi by evening, adding a stated effort to summon the prime minister and foreign minister. The question follows Friday's Baghdad meeting at which the Saudi intelligence chief renewed the Riyadh invitation and after Basnews reported that Baghdad suspended operations against militias in exchange for a halt to Saudi attack plans, a trade neither Baghdad nor Riyadh has publicly confirmed; the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has claimed no retaliatory attack since the strike.

On the economy, oil exports have fallen 75% with the Strait of Hormuz closed, and the oil minister said the crisis exposes the vulnerability of Iraq's export system, agreeing in the same run of statements to compensate oil companies for damages without stating amounts. The same minister says talks are underway to raise the Kurdistan oil quota, an increase he did not quantify.

In the north, Kurdistan Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said the region has been hit by more than 1,000 missile and drone attacks, and Turkey's parliamentary justice committee approved a framework bill for the PKK peace process.

Back on the security file, Iraq's army chief dissolved the East Tigris Operations Command, days after Baghdad bolstered deployments in areas it called vulnerable and warned the armed factions. No successor command was named in the announcement.

On the environment, the Green Iraq Observatory said recurring fish deaths expose a deepening environmental crisis, a die-off Iraqi News reads as seven signs of a worsening water and pollution crisis.

Prime Minister al-Zaidi discussed regional tensions and the withdrawal of the international coalition with French President Emmanuel Macron, in a call Rudaw and Kurdistan24 both reported as covering bilateral ties and regional developments.
