On 20 October, Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official owned media) reported PMF units deploying south of Mosul to receive 47 bodies following their arrival at Mosul airport, then reported a funeral with substantial official and public attendance and proceedings at the Nineveh Governorate building. Unit 10,000 (KH — affiliated/aligned media) described the funeral dead as people executed years earlier and subsequently found in mass graves in Mosul. It attributed their execution to what it called a Gulf-American terrorist organization; that allegation remains unverified.
