On 15 September, Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada’s Jihadi Council denied an account attributed to MP Ali Inheir that the faction had begun inventorying weapons in preparation for handover. It said the account was wholly false, that MP Ali Inheir did not represent an authorized faction voice and that only loyal members in its ranks could speak for it; the document was dated 16 September although channels carried it the previous evening.

“False claims that the battalions had begun inventorying their weapons in preparation for handing them over... the named MP does not represent any body authorized to speak for the battalions and has no authority to issue positions or statements in their name.”
The faction disputed both the reported handover preparation and the standing of the person associated with it, making the episode an internal message-control dispute as well as a contradiction on weapons policy.
