Late on 15 September, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) carried a statement attributed to Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada’s Jihadist Auxiliary denying MP Ali Anheer’s reported claim that the faction had begun inventorying weapons for surrender. The statement called his account lies and fabrication, said he was not an official spokesman for the fighters, and asserted that more loyal members within the faction alone had the right to speak for it.
