Within a minute of each other on the morning of 7 August 2026, Sabereen News and Unit 10,000 (both KH — affiliated) reported that Asayish forces attached to the Barzani party had detained journalist Azad Mukhtar over a report on the fuel crisis in Duhok. Both carried the same portrait image. The detention itself rests on these two militia-affiliated posts alone; no outside coverage of it appears in the collected evidence.
