On 19 August, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) reported that in his first statement after being acquitted, Abbas al-Yaqoubi said he would file a lawsuit against the Iraqi Intelligence Service. Within minutes, Sabereen News and Unit 10,000 (both KH — affiliated) posted identical wording that a protest had begun in Baghdad's Palestine Street–Karim al-Nada area condemning the wrongful treatment of a PMF fighter, and Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) posted the same event naming him as Abbas al-Yaqoubi, intelligence chief of the Baghdad Belt, with imagery of a crowd carrying yellow flags. Four channels across three factions carried it within half an hour; the acquittal itself is stated only in these items and appears in on-screen text referring to a Karkh court, with no outside coverage in the collected material.
