Within six minutes this morning, Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi, Al-Janoub TV, iNEWS and Al-Ahad TV all carried the Iraqi parliament speaker's appeal to Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf that Iraq be given special treatment on oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz. Al-Ahad TV and Al-Janoub TV both named Mohammed al-Halbousi and Ghalibaf and ran photographs of a meeting held under Iraqi and Iranian flags; iNEWS instead framed the same subject as Iraq moving to open new export routes after the Hormuz crisis. Desk collection recorded twelve of thirty-four watched channels touching the Strait of Hormuz since 2026-08-10.
