Within about a minute on 17 August, Badr-linked Watan TV and Ashab al-Kahf's Shabab al-Islam both reported that Muhammad Shabir Abd al-Ilah had been removed from his post as head of a Baghdad distribution authority; Watan TV identified it as oil-products distribution and Shabab al-Islam as electricity distribution. Shabab al-Islam also posted the Baghdad Mayoralty order, dated 16 August and signed by the mayor of Baghdad, withdrawing Haydar Adi Naif from the Dora municipality directorship and assigning Basaad Jasim Muhammad to run it for three months pending a replacement.
