On 11 September, Shabab al-Islam (Ashab al-Kahf — owned, non-official) displayed a statement attributed to Abu Alaa al-Walai, KSS’s secretary-general, congratulating Ansar Allah on its claimed recapture of western-coast cities. KSS-affiliated iNEWS subsequently carried the same positions: support for Ansar Allah’s claimed victories, Yemeni authority over the entire country under Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, and a Yemeni decision free from external dictates.

“KSS secretary-general Abu Alaa al-Walai: We congratulate Ansar Allah on its victories and its recapture of the western-coast cities after the Saudi-backed militias fled and their positions collapsed.”
