In the same 17 August statement, Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) listed KH's conditions for engaging any government on "the weapon of dignity": the complete and genuine departure of US forces from Iraqi land and airspace with guarantees against their return and the freeing of political and economic decision-making from American domination, the expulsion of Turkish forces occupying northern Iraq, and the dissolution of the Peshmerga as "the most heavily armed militias and the most dangerous to Iraq's unity." Within the preceding half hour, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) and Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) both carried the Coordination Framework's meeting line that placing weapons under state control is a national demand to be achieved "through dialogue and understanding," timed with the end of the international coalition's mission. Two channel families on the same evening therefore carried two different terms for the same file.
