On the evening of 17 August, Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) published a four-point statement in the name of KH's security official Abu Mujahid al-Asafi. It accuses prime-minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi of "provocative and irresponsible acts" including storming homes and frightening the families of martyrs, wounded, fighters and shaykhs "under direct American supervision," says patience has begun to run out, says KH "may begin acting on the principle of an eye for an eye, and the aggressor is more unjust," and closes by telling al-Zaidi he "stands before men who fear no blame in God." The statement is a single source on KH's own platform; no independent account of the alleged raids and no responding statement from al-Zaidi's office is in the collected material.

“We have been patient for more than a hundred days with the empty bravado of the young prime-minister-designate Ali al-Zaidi... so do not forget yourself, for you stand before men who fear no blame in God.”

“Our patience has begun to run out toward the provocative and irresponsible acts of the young al-Zaidi, such as storming homes and terrorising the families of the martyrs, the wounded, the fighters and the shaykhs, under direct supervision of the American enemy… We may begin acting on the principle of an eye for an eye, and the aggressor is the more unjust.”
KH has moved from arguing about the weapons file to addressing the head of government by name with a reciprocity formula, which changes what a subsequent incident involving state personnel would be read against.
