Two networks bury "American-Saudi aggression" dead in Nineveh and Basra

iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) and Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) each reported funerals for men killed in what both called an "American-Saudi aggression" on Popular Mobilization Forces positions, in Nineveh and Basra respectively, within four minutes of each other on 29 July

WHAT HAPPENED

Late on 29 July, iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) posted footage of a night-time procession, captioning it "crowds of Nineveh's people bid farewell to the martyrs of the Saudi-American aggression on the positions of the Popular Mobilization Forces"; visual review of the video shows a portrait captioned for a martyr named as Jafar Aziz Zainal al-Shabaki and Popular Mobilization Forces flags in the crowd. Four minutes earlier, Al-Ghadeer TV (Badr Organization — official) reported "Basra bids farewell to its martyr" and a reception for "the martyr Haidar Mansour al-Sikini following the brutal American-Saudi aggression." The two posts name different individuals in different provinces and are not text matches. Neither post states where or when the strikes occurred, how many were killed, or that the dead were engaged in any operation, and neither channel claimed responsibility for any counter-action.

WHY IT MATTERS

Funeral and eulogy language of this kind is often the only public trace of casualty events these factions do not otherwise announce, and its appearance in two provinces at once indicates losses across more than one command's footprint.
