Militia channels film PMF coffins arriving in Mosul

Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official) filmed the remains of Popular Mobilization Forces personnel arriving in Mosul for burial in the Nineveh plain, and Asaib Ahl al-Haq (AAH — official) posted coffin-procession footage captioned "this is our flesh that was torn today"

WHAT HAPPENED

At 19:42 Al-Nujaba TV (Nujaba — official owned media) published night footage captioned "the arrival of the bodies of the martyrs of the Popular Mobilization Forces to the city of Mosul in preparation for their funeral in the Nineveh plain," showing a covered object being unloaded from an ambulance-type van and carried in procession. Roughly eighty minutes later the official Asaib Ahl al-Haq channel posted a daylight procession with multiple coffins draped in Iranian and Iraqi flags, men in uniform with red berets, captioned "this is our flesh that was torn today / and this is our blood that was spilled today / and these are our brothers who were killed today." The Coordination Framework statement carried by the Asaib Ahl al-Haq channel and Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) states the aggression "led to the martyrdom of a number of members of the Popular Mobilization Forces Commission and the wounding of others." Two independent militia lines — funeral logistics filmed in Mosul and funeral imagery posted by a second faction — carry the same fatalities, and the political statement gives casualties without a number.

WHY IT MATTERS

Filmed remains and a named institutional casualty claim convert an air event into an obligation the factions have publicly assumed, and they set the human ledger against which any retaliation will be sized.
