On August 24, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) aired Salam al-Zubaidi (Victory Coalition — spokesperson) saying Faleh al-Fayyad had mixed political and security roles, should answer Parliament, and should not retain the PMF chairmanship indefinitely. Majed Mujabas (political and legal researcher) separately said Fayyad should appear before Parliament, called for insulating the PMF Commission from political disputes, and said remarks by Adnan Fayhan warranted prosecutorial investigation.

“Iraq is a state of institutions, and Fayyad must appear before Parliament and prove his innocence... We call for keeping the Popular Mobilization Commission out of political disputes... Sheikh Adnan Fayhan’s statements amount to information warranting an investigation by the public prosecution.”

“Fayyad mixed politics with the military position... The PMF chairmanship is not a title deed and should not be monopolized by Fayyad.”
- Al-Ahad TVAAH — official24 Aug, 22:51
“Will the PMF Commission position remain in Fayyad’s name for life and as a special political share to satisfy him?... Fayyad is advanced in age, and we need younger capabilities in the PMF Commission... I was told that Fayyad was notified of the bombardment three hours beforehand.”
The two speakers converged on parliamentary accountability while differing in reach: Mujabas focused on institutional review, whereas al-Zubaidi explicitly questioned Fayyad’s continued control of the chairmanship and called for younger leadership.
