On the evening of 14 August, Al-Janoub TV (Harakat al-Jihad wal-Bina — official) quoted Haider al-Mousawi saying tribal sheikh Adnan al-Janabi's duty lies in the tribal diwan and not in military affairs. Nineteen minutes earlier, Watan TV (Badr Organization — affiliated) had carried Babylon Provincial Council chairman Asaad al-Musalmawi denouncing al-Janabi's statements about Jurf al-Nasr and saying the matter would go to the judiciary. The two lines come from separate faction media within the same hour; the underlying remarks by al-Janabi are not reproduced in the collected evidence, and neither item states his factional or political backing.
