On 16 August Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) aired Waad al-Qado (Badr Organization — parliamentary bloc) saying parliament does not want war and that the decision is taken at the prime minister’s request, that the Saudis insisted on the attack despite a U.S. leadership refusal, that Kuwait is encroaching on Iraqi oil and killing fishermen, and that Tom Barrack is tantamount to a guardian over Iraq. The same program carried former MP Hussein Arab saying parliament decides the field of engagement, that any attack or statement against Iraq is rejected, and that there was intelligence before the Saudi aggression. The two guests did not agree on the rank of the commander-in-chief’s office director.
