Within seventeen seconds on the evening of 18 August, Saed al-Shuhada (KSS — official armed group channel), S Media (KSS — official social media) and Al-Kornet al-Kata'ibi (KSS — affiliated) posted word-for-word identical text, screenshotted from an account bearing al-Walai's handle, saying Iraq's oil is sold but Iraq has no right to dispose of its money because of an American occupation of that money, that Iraqi aircraft fly only with American permission, and that America will not allow electricity purchases from Turkey or Iran or contracts with China or Siemens to repair the grid. iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) carried a condensed version of the electricity line as a breaking alert nine minutes later.

KSS is converting Iraq's power-supply and contracting failures into a sovereignty charge against Washington, which places the electricity file inside the faction's political argument rather than the government's.
