Laith al-Khazali demands Baghdad reassess its U.S. agreements

Dr. Laith al-Khazali, carried by Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official), said the martyrs' blood "will not be a passing event" and called the strikes a clear breach of the Iraq-U.S. security agreement requiring the government to reassess all agreements

WHAT HAPPENED

At 19:43 Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official owned media) published Dr. Laith al-Khazali saying "what happened today constitutes a clear breach of the security agreement concluded between Iraq and the United States, which requires the Iraqi government and all active political forces to re-evaluate the totality of relations and concluded agreements." Three minutes later the same channel carried him saying "let all know that the blood of the martyrs and the wounded will not be a passing event, and this aggression should not pass unremarked." No specific action, target or timeline appears in either statement.

WHY IT MATTERS

AAH is positioning the strikes as grounds for revising the U.S. presence through Iraqi state channels, which is a different escalation path from the one Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada and the Islamic Resistance in Iraq statement describe.
