At 13:59 on 29 July 2026, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) announced live coverage of "the start of the funeral rites for the martyrs who ascended as a result of the criminal American-Saudi aggression against Iraq", accompanied by imagery of a large procession with flags and banners. Roughly an hour later, the statement issued in the name of Islamic Resistance in Iraq and carried across KH, Nujaba and Islamic Resistance in Iraq channels attributed the same Karbala killings to "the American enemy" alone, while insisting on "categorical denial of any targeting of the Saudi entity and its installations" and describing the Saudi system as a "treacherous dagger" run from the White House. Al-Ahad TV was not observed in the collected window carrying the joint statement text.
The perpetrator label determines who any retaliation could legitimately reach, and the two framings authorise different targets: Asaib Ahl al-Haq's wording opens Saudi Arabia as a direct party, the joint text makes it only a conditional secondary option.
