Al-Ittijah TV (KH — official) published remarks by Security and Defence Committee member Waad al-Qadu calling the dawn attacks "an open extension of the malicious schemes aimed at destabilising Iraq," demanding "the cancellation of the Prime Minister's upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia out of respect for the blood of the martyrs," and stating Iraq "retains all its legitimate rights, including the right of self-defence under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter." Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) had earlier carried Sadiqoun MP Salim al-Absawi demanding "an emergency parliamentary session to respond to the targeting of the Hashd headquarters," and later carried the Sadiqoun bloc statement calling for "an emergency session of the Council of Representatives to discuss the circumstances of the assault and protect sovereignty." iNEWS (KSS — affiliated) carried PMF figure Muhammad al-Safi saying "the Iraqi government ought to carry out the death sentences on the terrorists in response to Saudi Arabia."
Three networks converged on the same attribution but asked the Iraqi state for three different things — cancelling Gulf diplomacy, convening parliament, and executing prisoners — so the state faces competing faction demands rather than one.
