On August 30, Al-Ahad TV (AAH — official) carried Environment Minister Sarwa Abdul-Wahid’s statement that she was considering proposing transfer of the Mines Directorate to the Defense Ministry. She said its contract files had not yet been audited, alleged that al-Falahi and other employees signed a legally noncompliant contract while serving in a caretaker capacity, and announced employee evaluations.
