On 23 September, ABNA quoted an Anbar security source saying PMF forces fired on a group approaching northern Ramadi by boat from Lake Tharthar, seized the boat along with weapons and explosives, and deployed armed boats. The source described the group as terrorists, said its members fled and said its casualties were unknown. The account of the engagement and deployment rests on that unnamed source.
