AAH's Sadiqoun bloc demands the Hashd laws go to parliament, unbargained

WHAT HAPPENED

Between 13:25 and 13:50 on 17 August, AAH's official Al-Ahad TV aired a concentrated push on the two Popular Mobilization bills: Sadiqoun MP Ahmad al-Asadi said his bloc had adopted the law, would move to pass it quickly, and that it would not be subject to political bargaining; a bloc statement graphic demanded the government send both Hashd Commission bills to parliament "at the fastest time" and not leave them hostage to administrative or political delay. Legal commentator Ali al-Tamimi, speaking on the same channel, said the service and retirement bill centres on salaries and the rights of personnel, grants special privileges to the families of the Popular Mobilization's dead and wounded, and could pass easily, with compromise possible on disputed points including the retirement age.
